STATE CHIPS IN

Wodonga City Council has received $2.5 million of State Government funding towards the cost of a new aquatics and leisure centre in the White Box Rise area. The council has already provided $9 million for a project that will include a swimming pool, a warm-water pool and other fitness facilities.

KEEPING IT LOCAL

The Australian Local Government Association will be represented on three of the working groups established at the first post-election meeting of the Council of Australian Governments.

HELP FOR DISABLED

The Department of Human Services has casual vacancies for disability workers. Successful applicants will assist disabled Victorians with daily activities and help maintain a home-like atmosphere in community-based facilities. Hours may include weekends and sleepover shifts. Salary range is $32,116-$39,683. Contact careers.vic.gov.au for details.
