How To Win Friends And Influence People

Bring snacks: An old tactic, but one that works well. If you're too shy to go up to people in lectures, a box of shapes or a bag of chips will bring them to you like hungry seagulls.
Talk to people at bus stops: They're not going anywhere, so you've got a captive audience. Timetables usually mean you see the same people on the same buses every week, so getting to know them can only make these trips more fun.Be social and fun to be around: People quickly cotton on to others who are happy to be friendly during classes, but bolt the second they're after, because they have something better to do. Ultimately, making friends is like being in a relationship. If you're willing to put in the work, go to the bar for a beer after class and if people enjoy your company, then you won't have any problems.Join a club or society: These are ready-made for meeting friends who are interested in the same things you are. It's the best way to meet fellow amateur philosophers, anarchists or cricket fanatics.
